BB INSPECTIONS MULTI MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF LIVE OAK

In December, 2022, BB inspections won a 3 year multi million $ contract with the city of live oak but no other companies were invited to participate.

The fact that BB won the contract after the first presentation brings up many questions.....

Was a deal done behind closed doors before the vote?

Why did only one councilmember object to doubling the permit fees which increased BBs revenues at the expense of small business and all other councilmembers didn't care?

Why did the city manager speak so highly of BB inspections? What does he have to benefit from them having the new contract?

Who in the city benefits from BB winning the contract?

Who came up with the arbitrary 65% they would earn from all permit fees?

Why did the city switch from using an in house (employed) building official to a contracted building official?

Why were permit fees doubled from what they used to be immediately after BB won the contract?

Why is a city that has over $32 million in debt giving away 65% of their permit fees to an outside contractor?
